After the event

Dear Participant,
I am pleased to inform you that the Intellectual Property Valuation in Practice Symposium, held at our Office on 27th -28th November 2008 was a great success.  The symposium was the first in a series of four symposia bringing together experts with practical knowledge of the issues and challenges facing the valuation of patentable technologies.

The symposium proceedings and downloads of the presentations are available on the symposium website, here

We were especially pleased to host such an event in Budapest, were alongside taking positive steps professionally we had the opportunity to introduce the dynamic and unique Hungarian IP and innovation environment.  As part of the symposium we had the unique pleasure of hosting a reception dinner and networking event for the participants at the Budapest History Museum, in the Buda Castle.

We are pleased to have had the Austrian Patent Office, National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland and the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office as our partners in this initiative.  We would like to thank them for their efforts and organisational assistance.

As the kick-off event of the symposia series the primary aims of the Budapest symposium were to raise awareness of IP valuation issues and promote dialogue between stakeholders. We are calling for further cooperation amongst the stakeholders to make IP valuation a professional issue, to discuss experiences and issues and to solve problems.

As a continuation of the symposium we would like to invite you to join and contribute to our forthcoming stakeholder forum. More information about this will be available soon on this website. We hope that this forum will be a solid platform for exchanging experiences, developing good and best practises and standardising methodology.

Thank you for your attendance and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
