The legal institution of supplementary protection is introduced by
Article 22/A of Act XXXIII of 1995 amended by Act XXXIX of 2002 (Patent Act). This provision of the Patent Act lays down that in matters concerning supplementary protection certificates the provisions of the
Patent Act shall apply mutatis mutandis. Hungarian only
Government Decree 26/2004. (II. 26.)
contains detailed rules concerning the implementation of Community Regulations relating to the
supplementary protection of certain products.
