Obtaining patent protection via national procedure


The Hungarian Intellectual Property Office grants patents according to the laws and regulation on applications.

  • Administrative service fees must be paid for certain steps in the course of the procedure as well as for the maintenance of protection.

  • The Information Leaflet provides the applicants detailed information on the patent granting procedure.

  • The Guidelines for patent examination (Hungarian only) explains the Office's consistent interpretation and practice of the patent law.

  • It is advisable to draft the application by using the Request for Patent Application form.
